Staff SRE / DevOps Engineer

Job Description

Venuetize has an immediate opening for a Staff SRE/DevOps Engineer. We are looking for a passionate, driven and strong Infrastructure architect who is excited about joining our mobile apps and platform DevSec Ops team. As a Staff SRE/DevOps Engineer, you will leverage your experience in designing, building and operationalizing scalable Infrastructure systems to power our Venuetize Platform.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in the following areas:

  • Infrastructure Management in public cloud, Amazon Web Services specifically
    • Infrastructure Scaling, optimizations, and security efforts to meet Venuetize Platform needs
    • AWS Cloud Operations including CloudFront, CloudWatch, SNS Topics, Lambda Functions, Network and Security Tools & Operations
    • Database Operations primarily RDS, MySQL configuration, provisioning, management, and security
    • Microservices Platform Health monitoring and reporting
  • Designing scalable, self-healing and highly observable Infrastructure Systems using Infrastructure As Code (IAC) toolset (Terraform, Ansible, Packer etc.)
  • Actively participating in platform engineering design reviews to empower developers to build scalable, secure and performant platform
  • Designing and enhancing robust Continuous Integration/Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to accelerate product iteration
  • Leading troubleshooting of server-side applications; processes and applications investigation and implementation to improve and increase system availability, reliability and security
  • Collaborating with developers in designing and securing distributed systems and application dependency management
  • Partnering with developers to optimize automated application deployment.



  • 5+ years of in-depth, hands-on operational experience with AWS, required, along with a working knowledge of other cloud architectures is desirable
  • 5+ years of Linux administration, Infrastructure As a Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi), Observability (Newrelic, datadog)and Security tools (Alertlogic, Detectify, Data theorem)
  • Expertise in building and enhancing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, BitOps, Gitlab, Spinnaker, CircleCI, Harness etc.
  • Expertise in enhancing microservices scalability, security, availability and reliability at scale in a cloud native environment
  • Experience in developing container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, ECS, etc.
  • Experience with messaging systems like Kafka (MSK, Confluent, Lightbend)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey architecture and technology solutions to targeted audience
  • Proven ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams
  • Ability to thrive in a startup/fast-paced environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with or contributing directly to Open Source projects
  • Understanding and experience in managing technology products
  • Experience with collaborating in a geographically and globally distributed team of engineers
  • Experience in working with failure-based testing
  • WSO2 experience is a plus
  • Docker/Container experience is a plus
